Low-Maintenace Zuri Screened Porch with Cable Handrails in Potomac

Summary

             A screened porch addition completed for an older Potomac home, this screen room design in Maryland features low-maintenance materials such as Zuri decking in pecan trim and SCREENEZE screening system porch screen panels. The deck and porch were both constructed as part of a total rebuild of a preexisting screen room and deck space.

             The screened porch has a shed roof with a white-painted ceiling, from which two outdoor Minka-Aire ceiling fans are mounted. The porch screens keep bugs out during the summer, and the ceiling fans have lights that ensure the outdoor space is usable during both night and day. The Zuri pecan deck boards are high-performing and low-maintenance, and contrast nicely with the white vinyl trim and complementary stained hardwood latticework. Entry to the elevated screen room is granted via two custom staircases, which have graspable handrails, and Larson storm doors. Stainless steel cable handrails add a modern touch to this clean design.

             Also installed as part of the project were gutters for drainage, soffites, facia, and asphalt shingles to match the house. Just beyond the screened porch is a pool to enjoy during the summer, with the porch providing refuge from the mosquitoes the Potomac area gets with the warmer weather.
