Complete with Infratech Heaters, Ceiling Fan, Skylights, and Low-Maintenance Zuri Decking in Tenleytown, Washington, DC
Sporting white PVC trim, stained hardwood latticework and matching premium Zuri decking, this screened porch design created by Design Builders maximizes the utility of a smaller outdoor space. When the homeowners approached Design Builders as a licensed deck contractor for an economical solution to the existing flagstone patio in their backyard, a stylish screen room was determined to be the best way to go.
The black SCREENEZE screening system screen panels keep bugs out of the space so it can be enjoyed in the summer when mosquitoes otherwise make decks and the outdoors difficult to enjoy in Maryland at that time of year. A designer ceiling fan ensures the room is cool as well, while an Infratech infrared heater keeps the area habitable for entertaining in the fall and on warmer winter nights. The colors contrast nicely with the aforementioned trim and decking pieces, as well as the SCREENEZE and black stainless cable deck handrails.
To truly make the space an aesthetically pleasing success as much as it is a usable space, multiple features were taken into account while designing the screened porch. On one end, both Trex recessed lights and two skylights were included in the design to ensure the screen room and/or the kitchen and dining room area inside receive plenty of lighting on sunny and cloudy days alike. Moreover, to ensure the functionality of the space, large windows and a new glass door were added for entering and exiting the screened area, while a new duple door and custom Zuri staircase with cable handrails were added for accessibility to the flagstone patio and remainder of the backyard.
