The world is changing quickly. Design Builders saw years ago that people had less interest in having someone coming to their home for a consultation. Kids, work, dinner. And now, even as we begin what will be the " new normal", we don't want anyone coming to our homes, period. We get it.
Anticipating this issue of in-person meetings years ago ( we did not anticipate Corona ....), Design Builders set out to do things a little differently. Enter the ONLINE DESIGN CONSULTATION.
In this innovative process, all meetings required for your initial design and build project, including budget, are done online, using Zoom, and construction software we use, Co Construct. This applies across the board, from the initial consultation and estimate proposal review to the permit plan review to the final plan review. Multiple meetings are necessary to ensure customers get exactly what they want, but moving them online gives customers the freedom to complete these required steps from anywhere—whether that’s at work, from the comfort of their homes, or in any other Internet-enabled location. You can use your computer, your tablet, or your phone. Our process works across all platforms. And because of this, multiple people can join a meeting from anywhere at the same time.
How do you get started ? Just reach out to us and tell us you want to sign up for an online consultation. We will send you a link to our calendar. There you can pick and choose the open date and time you are available to chat online. You get to pick the date and time most convenient for you. Our initial consult meetings are held Monday-Thursday from 8 am to 11 am.
You will send us 8-10 photos of your property. These are the same photos we would take if we came out to your home. If necessary, we will ask for a copy of your property map / plat. From here, using Zoom, its just like sitting in your kitchen, only we are ahead of the game because we have already seen your home and plat. We can show you what we do, exchange ideas and show products, talk about wishes and desires vs. wants and needs. From there we can get to you a ballpark estimate.
The positive response to this type of meeting has gone beyond our expectations. We know its non traditional, but the results speak for themselves. Overwhelmingly, people love this format. Considering where we are currently with our health crisis and the request for social distancing, this way of working was actually ahead of its time.
Putting the Customer First
First and foremost, Design Builders started this policy in an attempt to make the process as easy as possible for customers. We understood the struggle of in-person meetings, and we wanted to eliminate as much of the needless fuss and struggle as possible. It’s a customer-first policy that perfectly speaks to the priorities of Design Builders.
Wasting time, money, and energy doesn’t do anyone any good. Online meetings help ensure the entire build process is more efficient in all those parameters. Rather than rushing around, spending time in the car, and spending money on gas, customers can just hop onto a laptop from any location and have a productive meeting.
Because it’s easier to join an online meeting, there’s also less time spent waiting at the physical location for all the attendees to arrive. Life happens. People get stuck in traffic. Online meetings mean those little everyday delays don’t take everyone’s time.
Another great benefit of online meetings is the ability to utilize the technology at everyone’s fingertips. Using the Internet to look at samples and design ideas means the customer can tell us in real time what kinds of products they like and don’t like. Rather than having to rely on having physical samples available at the meeting, the clients can just scroll through options and tell us immediately what matches their aesthetic preferences.
Many design and build firms run into this problem of scheduling in-person meetings, but most companies just accept the hassle as part of doing business. Design Builders figured it out. Call or e Mail us today to learn the details of our online design process, and see what Design Builders can do for you.
